HLG Symposium in San Francisco
 Hammond Law Group is pleased to announce a Symposium on International Recruitment of Health Care Workers on Friday, October 24, 2008. The Symposium is free to all clients and friends of the firm. It is aimed at employers of health care workers -- Registered Nurses, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, and other allied professions.

HR 5924 Could Get Vote in September
 The House Judiciary Committee intends to markup HR 5924, the Emergency Nursing Supply Relief Act, on Wednesday, September 10. Several other measures will also be marked up, including HR 5882, Congresswoman Lofgren's recapture legislation, HR 6020 (military), and HR 5950 (medical care for immigration detainees).  If the HJC successfully passes the measure it will allow the full House to act on HR 5924, giving us a ray of hope for action in 2008.

Code of Ethical Conduct
 Hammond Law Group has been working with industry leaders and AcademyHealth on a Code of Ethical Conduct for the Recruitment of Foreign Educated Nurses to the United States.  The Code was released on September 4, 2008.

CGFNS Launches Indian Nursing Knowledge Pilot Project
CGFNS and AHEd Global Healthcare, Inc. (AGH) (a subsidiary of American Higher Education, Inc.), a global continuing education provider, recently announced the rollout of a pilot project in India for the CGFNS Assessment of General Nursing Knowledge (CGFNS-AGNK) examination.
